Sharad Pawar Criticizes PM Modi and Praises Gandhi Family in Pune Rally
Pune (Maharashtra) [India], September 28: Nationalist Congress Party-Sharad Chandra Pawar (NCP-SP) Chief Sharad Pawar praised the Gandhi family’s contributions to the nation while criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for targeting them. Pawar expressed his disappointment that PM Modi focused on the Gandhi family instead of addressing issues like inflation, law and order, and unemployment during his speeches in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a public rally in the Vadgaon Sheri Assembly constituency of Pune district, Pawar highlighted the sacrifices made by Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi. He noted that Nehru was imprisoned for 14 years, and both Indira and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the country. Pawar emphasized that instead of appreciating these sacrifices, PM Modi criticized the Gandhi family.
Pawar also discussed the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the Congress and NCP made significant gains in Maharashtra, winning 31 out of 48 seats. He urged the public to bring about similar change in the upcoming Maharashtra polls.
He criticized the central government’s ‘One nation, one election’ resolution, pointing out the inconsistency in announcing separate polls for Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Maharashtra. Pawar accused the ruling party of misleading the public with deceptive politics.
Pawar also took a dig at the BJP’s goal of winning more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, claiming that the party aimed to change the constitution drafted by Dr. Baba Ambedkar. He revealed that the INDIA alliance was formed to prevent the BJP from achieving this goal and to protect people’s rights.
Additionally, Pawar criticized the current Maharashtra government for its poor handling of law and order, accusing them of supporting drug menaces and Koyta gangs. He also slammed the current MLA from Vadgaon Sheri, Sunil Tingare, for his involvement in a road accident case where two young people died.
