Sharad Pawar Criticizes Maharashtra Government Amidst Intense Election Campaigning

In Pune, Maharashtra, the political atmosphere is heating up as the state prepares for the upcoming assembly elections. Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), has criticized the ruling Mahayuti government. He claims that the current administration has worsened conditions for farmers, leading to numerous suicides among them.

During a public rally, Pawar highlighted the alliance between NCP-SCP, Congress, and Shivsena (UBT) for the elections. He noted that in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress secured only one seat while NCP had three. However, by joining forces, they managed to win 30 seats this time.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Congress of exploiting the poor under the guise of poverty elimination. Speaking at a rally in Panvel, Maharashtra, he criticized Congress for perpetuating poverty with false promises.

Meanwhile, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed surprise at the extensive campaigning by top BJP leaders, including the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister, in the state assembly elections. He shared his long political experience, noting that he had never seen such high-level involvement in state elections before.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections, involving 288 seats, are scheduled for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. Both the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are actively campaigning to win over voters.
