Wahab Riaz, who was removed from the selection committee along with Abdul Razzaq, expressed his disappointment on social media. He stated, “There is a lot I can say but I don’t want to be part of the blame games.”

Riaz shared a letter expressing his dedication to Pakistan cricket and his support for the coaching staff’s vision. He wished the team success in the future.

PCB’s Statement

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the removal of Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz from the selection committee following Pakistan’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. The PCB plans to restructure the selection committee and will announce the new composition soon.

Wahab Riaz previously served as the Chief Selector and was part of the men’s selection committee. He also traveled with the Pakistan team to the T20 World Cup as a senior team manager.
