Shafi Burfat Calls for Sheikh Hasina’s Return to Save Bangladesh
Darmstadt, Germany, August 11: Shafi Burfat, the exiled leader of the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz, has made a strong call for the return of Sheikh Hasina to Bangladesh. He believes her presence could change the country’s political situation and stop ongoing conspiracies against it.
Burfat, who fights for Sindhi rights in Pakistan, highlighted recent attacks on statues of Bangladesh’s founding father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and violence against the Bengali Hindu community. He said these actions are part of a bigger plan to destabilize Bangladesh.
He accused Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of trying to push Bangladesh towards fundamentalism and create anti-Hindu and anti-Indian feelings. Burfat said, “Sheikh Hasina’s return will inspire her supporters and give secular political activists and the Awami League a psychological and moral boost.”
Burfat believes the current government should handle the situation, but Sheikh Hasina’s return could make it harder for other countries to interfere in Bangladesh’s affairs. He stressed that the violence against Bengali Hindus is part of a global plan to weaken Bangladesh’s stability and progress.
Living in exile in Europe, Burfat explained that Sheikh Hasina was removed from power by fundamentalist forces and international powers, with Pakistan’s ISI playing a key role. He urged the world to support her return to restore democracy in Bangladesh.
As the founder of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz, Burfat has long fought for Sindhi rights in Pakistan and the creation of Sindhudesh, a separate nation for Sindhis. His call for Sheikh Hasina’s return shows the shared struggles of oppressed communities and the importance of her leadership for Bangladesh’s stability.
Burfat concluded by saying that the Hindus of Bangladesh are an important part of the nation, just like Sindhi Hindus are to Sindh. He emphasized that the issue is not against any minority but a global conspiracy against Bangladesh’s existence.
