Indian cricketer Shafali Verma expressed her pride and happiness in representing India, calling it an emotional and joyous experience. Since her debut in 2019, she has achieved significant milestones in all formats.

Shafali is set to play in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE. She said, “It is a big thing for me, from where I have come to play for our country is a big thing, a big honour for me. Wearing the India T-shirt is quite emotional and the happiest feeling as well. Right now, I am thinking about how good I can do for my team and for my country. I have got the T-shirt, but I am focused on how I can carry it and how proud I can make them feel.”

In five Test matches, Shafali has scored 567 runs at an average of 63.00, with a best score of 205. In 26 ODIs, she has scored 588 runs with four half-centuries. In 81 T20Is, she has scored 1,948 runs with 10 half-centuries.

India, placed in Group A, will start their campaign on October 4 against New Zealand. The squad includes key players like Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana.
