Seoul Launches First Nighttime Self-Driving Taxi Service in Gangnam
The city of Seoul is introducing its first nighttime self-driving taxi service this week. Starting Thursday, three autonomous taxis will begin operating in the bustling Gangnam district and parts of the neighboring Seocho district. These taxis will be available from 11 PM to 5 AM, covering an 11.7-square-kilometer area.
The self-driving taxis will navigate autonomously on roads with four or more lanes. However, drivers will take control when the taxis are on narrower roads near residential areas or school zones.
