Senator Marco Rubio Praises Donald Trump at Republican National Committee

Milwaukee [US], July 19: The Republican Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio, has praised former US President Donald Trump as the ‘most charming and open-minded guy’ who loves America. Speaking to reporters, Rubio mentioned that many people who now criticize Trump used to be close to him and even attended his wedding.

Rubio, sitting next to Trump, said, ‘Honestly, he (Trump) is one of the most charming people you would want to hang out with. If it weren’t for politics, everyone would… I used to hang out with him, some of them went to his wedding, and all of a sudden, he got into politics, now they say nasty things about him. But he is an incredibly charming person and frankly very open-minded guy.’ Rubio emphasized that Trump loves America and that many people support him because of this.

Rubio made these remarks during the Republican National Committee, a four-day-long conference featuring high-profile speakers and a primetime speech from Trump. The themes for each day were ‘Make America wealthy again,’ ‘Make America safe again,’ ‘Make America strong again,’ and ‘Make America great once again.’

Rubio also criticized US President Joe Biden, calling his ideas ‘terrible’ and accusing Biden’s weakness of making America vulnerable. He expressed hope that political parties will continue to fight for democracy but stressed the importance of focusing on the people’s hopes and dreams.

Rubio noted that Trump had the ability to live an excellent life but chose to enter politics because he loves America. He mentioned that people support Trump because they know he loves the country.

Regarding the recent assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania, Rubio said, ‘Politics has become so dynamic. But I do think one of the things, what it reminded me of, this is a guy that doesn’t need to be in politics. He really doesn’t. Donald Trump had the ability to be living an excellent life, play golf every day, enjoy the money he’s made, still be the celebrity, still go to UFC fights, loved. He had everything gone for him.’

Trump was on stage at a campaign rally on Saturday when gunshots rang out, and Secret Service agents stormed the stage. Trump later said that the bullet pierced the upper part of his right ear. One rally attendee was killed, and two more were critically injured. The FBI identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, who was killed by Secret Service agents.
