Security Forces Recover Weapons and Ammunition in Manipur
In a week-long joint operation, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security forces successfully recovered 29 weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), ammunition, and other war-like stores from various districts in Manipur. This operation was conducted in both hill and valley regions, including Imphal West, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, Tengnoupal, and Kakching districts.
Details of the Operation
On November 4, 2024, acting on specific intelligence, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted a search in Samukom Village, Tengnoupal District, recovering Pompi guns, grenades, IEDs, and other explosive materials. In Bishnupur district, a joint operation led by Assam Rifles found rifles, pistols, grenades, and ammunition.
Further operations in Imphal West on November 8 led to the recovery of a carbine machine gun, grenade launcher, and more. On November 9, in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts, various rifles, pistols, and improvised launchers were seized. The following day, a joint team recovered a rifle and ammunition in Kakching District.
