Security Forces Continue Search in Abujhmad After Naxal Encounter in Bastar

In the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, security forces are on a joint search mission in the Abujhmad jungles for the third consecutive day. This follows an encounter where five Naxals, including two women, were killed. The operation involves the district reserve guards, special task force, Bastar Fighters, and Border Security Force.

Two jawans were injured during the gunfight on Saturday but are reported to be in stable condition. A significant cache of weapons was recovered during the operation on the Kanker-Narayanpur border.

Inspector General of the Bastar Range, Sundarraj P, confirmed the recovery of the Naxals’ bodies and weapons. The search operation began on Friday night.

Earlier, on November 9, three Naxals, including a platoon commander with a bounty of Rs 8 lakh, were killed in an encounter in Bijapur district.
