Pune Gang Rape Case: Second Suspect Arrested
In a significant development, police have arrested another suspect in the Pune gang rape case from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. This marks the second arrest in the case, which has now been transferred to the Crime Branch unit of Pune City Police.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on the night of October 3 in the Bopdev Ghat area of Pune, where a 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three unknown individuals. The victim had visited the ghat with a friend when the attack happened around 11 pm. The crime was reported to the police at approximately 5 am the following day.
Police Investigation
Pune Police had earlier released sketches of two suspects involved in the case. The search for the remaining accused is ongoing, with 10 teams from the Crime Branch and Detective Branch actively working on the case, according to Pune Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma.
