Search Operations in Jammu and Kashmir
Honoring Fallen Heroes and Combating Terrorism
In Tangmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army and Police have intensified search operations to find those responsible for recent terror attacks. On October 24, terrorists attacked a military vehicle in Baramulla, killing two soldiers and two civilian porters. Earlier, on October 20, a doctor and six construction workers were killed in Ganderbal when terrorists attacked a tunnel construction site.
The attackers, believed to be at least two, targeted laborers returning to their camp in Gund, Ganderbal. This incident has raised serious concerns due to its targeted nature. In response, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered increased security around key infrastructure projects and construction camps, including a security audit, round-the-clock checkpoints, night patrolling, and area domination.
L-G Sinha paid tribute to the fallen soldiers and porters, including Rifleman Jeevan Singh, Rifleman Kaisar Ahmad Shah, and defense porters Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdary and Zahoor Ahmad Mir, who were killed in the Gulmarg attack.
Meanwhile, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted a major operation across six districts, capturing recruiters linked to the terror group “Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim” (TLM), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This group was reportedly operated by a Pakistani handler known as Baba Hamas.
