In Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, the police conducted a search at Ram Kutir Charitable Trust for ‘Bhole Baba’ after a tragic stampede at his Satsang in Hathras. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar stated that Bhole Baba was not found on the campus.

Aligarh District Update

Aligarh District Magistrate Vishak G Iyer reported that 23 bodies have been brought to Aligarh. Three injured people are receiving treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, with one in critical condition.

Identification of Victims

Hathras Chief Medical Officer Dr. Manjeet Singh mentioned that 19 out of 32 bodies have been identified, and efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining victims.

Calls for Safety Measures

Congress MP KL Sharma urged the state government to ensure proper safety measures at such events and suggested higher compensation for the victims’ families.

Congress MP Imran Masood highlighted the need for relief efforts, noting that many victims are yet to be identified. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary called the incident unfortunate and stated that the government is reviewing the situation.

Eyewitness Shakuntala Devi described the stampede, explaining that it occurred as people exited the Satsang on an uneven road, causing many to fall.
