SDRF Rescues Vehicles from Flooded Ganga River in Haridwar
In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully pulled out four vehicles from the Ganga River. These vehicles were swept away by heavy rains that caused a rain drain to overflow near Kharkhari.
Rescue Operation
The rescue operation was led by ASI Pravindra Dhasmana. The SDRF team worked tirelessly for hours to retrieve the submerged vehicles and handed them over to the district police.
Heavy Rainfall and Flooding
On Saturday, Haridwar experienced intense downpours, leading to severe flooding. The Ganga River’s water level rose significantly, causing roads to flood and vehicles to become submerged. Local authorities advised residents and visitors to avoid bathing in the river due to the dangerous conditions.
