On the opening day of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up games, Scotland delivered a surprising victory over Pakistan, while Sri Lanka secured a win against Bangladesh.

Scotland vs. Pakistan

Scotland’s all-round performance saw them reduce Pakistan to 33/4 early on. Muneeba Ali and Omaima Sohail helped Pakistan recover to 132/9 in 20 overs. Kathryn Bryce took three wickets for Scotland, while Olivia Bell and Abtaha Maqsood shared two each. In response, Sarah Bryce and Saskia Horley had a 73-run opening stand. Sarah Bryce remained unbeaten on 60, leading Scotland to victory with two overs to spare.

Sri Lanka vs. Bangladesh

Sri Lanka’s Hasini Perera and Nilakshi de Silva scored 43 and 30 respectively, taking their team to 143/7. Inoshi Fernando and Sugandika Kumari’s early strikes restricted Bangladesh to 110/9. Bangladesh’s skipper Nigar Sultana remained unbeaten on 30, but it wasn’t enough to chase down the target.
