Schools and Colleges Closed in Dakshina Kannada Due to Heavy Rainfall

In Dakshina Kannada district, all Anganwadis, schools, and pre-university colleges are closed on July 6 due to heavy rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert, prompting Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan to take precautionary measures.

The district administration has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea and urged citizens to avoid low-lying areas, river banks, and seashores for safety.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in Coastal Karnataka on July 5-6 and in Coastal and South Interior Karnataka from July 7-9.
