Field Workers Honored at Vigyan Bhawan
New Delhi, August 14: The Ministry of Women and Child Development hosted 161 field functionaries and their companions from across India at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The event featured an interactive session with the Minister of State, Savitri Thakur.

These dedicated workers are crucial in implementing schemes like ‘Anganwadis’, ‘Sakhi One-Stop Centres’, ‘Sankalp Hubs for Empowerment of Women’, Child Welfare Committees, and District Child Protection Units. Savitri Thakur emphasized the importance of grassroots efforts in empowering women and ensuring child welfare.
Recognition and Applause
The women, representing various States and Union Territories, were applauded for their commitment and invited to attend the 78th Independence Day Ceremony at the Red Fort on August 15. Thakur highlighted their role in advancing the goal of Viksit Bharat, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Thakur stated, “Empowered women are the foundation of a strong nation. Through initiatives like Mission Shakti, Mission Poshan 2.0, and Mission Vatsalya, we are fortifying this foundation. Your dedication and hard work are leading the women and children of India towards a brighter future.”

Monika Sharma from Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district expressed her excitement about being invited to the Independence Day ceremony. She said, “I am proud and honoured to receive this invitation. It fills me with immense happiness to be part of this historic event.”
Savitri Devi, an Anganwadi worker from Jharkhand, shared her joy, saying, “This feels like a dream come true. My family is proud and filled with joy at this recognition.”
Nari Shakti Puruskar Awardees
The Ministry also hosted 10 awardees of the ‘Nari Shakti Puruskar’, who shared their work and interacted with the Minister of State. They were felicitated for their continued hard work.
