Satyendar Jain Granted Bail in Money Laundering Case

New Delhi, October 18: AAP leader and former Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain has been granted bail in a money laundering case. Jain described the court’s decision as a victory for truth, saying “Satyamev Jayate.” His lawyer, Vivek Jain, stated that the trial court extended liberty without special conditions, emphasizing Jain’s right not to be indefinitely incarcerated under Article 21.

AAP Leaders React

AAP leader Sanjay Singh praised Jain for his contributions to Delhi’s healthcare, including the Mohalla Clinic model and free medicine schemes. Singh noted that Jain lost 36 kg during his 873 days in jail. Manish Sisodia criticized the BJP for false allegations against Jain and other AAP leaders, demanding an apology from PM Modi and the BJP for stalling Delhi’s development projects.

Delhi Minister Gopal Rai expressed gratitude to the court, stating that AAP has become stronger after Jain’s bail. Saurabh Bharadwaj announced that AAP is now fully prepared for the Delhi elections, despite conspiracies against them.

Court’s Decision

The Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to Jain, who was arrested in May 2022 by the Enforcement Directorate on money laundering charges. Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted bail on a bond of Rs. 50,000. Jain’s wife and daughter were emotional in court after the decision, as Jain had been incarcerated for nearly 18 months.
