Sarfaraz Khan Praises Virat Kohli Ahead of India vs Bangladesh Test Series
Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan praised star batter Virat Kohli, recalling their time together at the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Sarfaraz and Kohli will be seen in action together in the first Test of the two-match series against Bangladesh starting Thursday.
Between 2015-18, Sarfaraz played 25 matches for RCB under Kohli’s captaincy, scoring 228 runs in 18 innings. Speaking on JioCinema, Sarfaraz said that Kohli’s ‘passion and spirit’ are ‘unmatched’. He admired Kohli’s ability to predict his performance and deliver on it.
Sarfaraz recalled meeting Kohli for the first time at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Kohli bowed to him after he scored 45 runs in 21 balls. Sarfaraz expressed his dream of sharing an Indian team dressing room with Kohli.
Sarfaraz also talked about Kohli’s game ethics, noting his clear understanding of the work needed to succeed and the importance of not letting criticism or praise affect one’s game. He mentioned Kohli’s flick shot and cover drive as his favorite shots.
Sarfaraz made his international debut for India during the home Test series against England this year, scoring 200 runs in three matches. The two-match series against Bangladesh will start on September 19 in Chennai and the second game will begin on September 27 in Kanpur.
