Santosh Kashyap Becomes New Head Coach of Indian Women’s Football Team

New Delhi, India – The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appointed Santosh Kashyap as the new head coach of the Indian senior women’s football team. The 29-member squad, known as the Blue Tigresses, will begin their training camp in Goa on September 20 to prepare for the SAFF Women’s Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal, from October 17 to 30, 2024.

About Santosh Kashyap

Santosh Kashyap, a former India international footballer, has nearly a decade of coaching experience in the I-League. He has managed clubs like Mohun Bagan AC, Aizawl FC, Mumbai FC, Salgaocar FC, Royal Wahingdoh FC, Rangdajied United FC, ONGC, and Air India. The 58-year-old has also served as an assistant coach for NorthEast United FC and Odisha FC in the Indian Super League.

Coaching Team

Kashyap will be supported by Priya PV as the assistant coach and Raghuvir Pravin Khanolkar as the goalkeeper coach.

Kashyap’s Vision

Speaking to the-aiff.com, Kashyap expressed his gratitude to the AIFF President, Kalyan Chaubey, and other senior members of the federation for the opportunity. He emphasized the need for tactical improvement and expressed confidence in the current set of players. Kashyap aims to regain the SAFF Championship title and has bigger plans for the team in the future.
