Harare, Zimbabwe – July 14: In the fifth and final T20I match of the series against Zimbabwe, India scored 167/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant half-century by Sanju Samson and a quick cameo by Shivam Dube.

India’s Batting Highlights

After being asked to bat first by Zimbabwe, India started strong with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting two big sixes. However, Jaiswal was soon bowled out by Zimbabwe’s captain Sikandar Raza for 12 runs. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill tried to stabilize the innings but were dismissed for 14 and 13 runs respectively.

Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag, both teammates from Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, then took charge. They built a solid partnership, taking India to 75/3 at the halfway mark. Samson hit two sixes in the 12th over, and the duo reached a 50-run partnership in 40 balls. Parag was eventually dismissed for 22 runs, ending their 65-run partnership.

Samson’s Heroics

Sanju Samson continued his fine form, reaching his second T20I half-century in 39 balls. He was eventually dismissed for 58 runs, which included four sixes. Shivam Dube then took over, hitting two fours and a six in the 19th over, before being run out for 26 runs. Rinku Singh finished the innings with a six and a four, taking India to a total of 167/6.

Zimbabwe’s Bowling Performance

Blessing Muzarabani was the standout bowler for Zimbabwe, taking 2 wickets for 19 runs. Richard Ngarva, Sikandar Raza, and Brandon Mavuta each took a wicket as well.

India now needs to defend 168 runs to win the series 4-1.
