Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut backed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in Parliament, stating that the INDIA bloc does not align with the ‘fake Hindutva’ portrayed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Raut emphasized that Hindutva does not promote spreading hatred.

Raut said, ‘Yesterday, Rahul Gandhiji said that Hindutva is not equal to the BJP. Hindutva does not promote spreading hatred. We do not align with the fake Hindutva portrayed by the BJP.’

Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Lok Sabha, his first as Leader of Opposition, generated significant political heat. BJP leaders accused him of misleading the House and terming the entire Hindu community violent. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah demanded an apology from Gandhi.

During his speech, Gandhi criticized the BJP-led government over the Agniveer scheme, claiming that Agniveers serving for four years would not receive a pension and are not recognized as ‘jawan’ or ‘martyr.’ He also highlighted the Congress party’s symbol, ‘Abhayamudra,’ as a gesture of fearlessness and reassurance.

Gandhi’s remarks led to a heated exchange between BJP and Congress leaders, with both parties holding press conferences to defend their positions. PM Modi is expected to deliver his reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in Parliament later today.
