Sanjay Raut Discusses Seat-Sharing with Rahul Gandhi for Maharashtra Elections

Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Seat-Sharing Talks

Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance

As the Maharashtra Assembly Elections approach on November 20, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has announced plans to discuss seat-sharing with Rahul Gandhi for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. Raut highlighted that decisions on many seats are still pending.

Challenges in Decision-Making

Raut criticized the decision-making capabilities of Maharashtra leaders, stating that the Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena, along with allies like the Samajwadi Party and Peasants and Workers Party of India, need to finalize their seat-sharing arrangements quickly. He mentioned speaking with Mukul Wasnik and plans to expedite discussions with Rahul Gandhi.

Internal Disagreements and BJP Criticism

While there are no major disagreements between the NCP, Shiv Sena, and Congress, some seats are contested by all three parties. Raut also criticized the BJP, accusing them of using agencies like the CBI and ED against opponents, and likened their tactics to the “Bishnoi gang.” He expressed concerns about the Election Commission and Supreme Court’s neutrality, suggesting they favor the BJP.

Upcoming Elections

The Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on November 20. In the 2019 elections, the MVA coalition won 154 out of 288 seats. This year, the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP, and Congress aim to counter the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance.
