Sanjay Manjrekar’s Advice for Team India in T20 World Cup

Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar believes that India should select their playing XI based on the conditions to secure victories. During the group stage in the United States, India opted for three frontline pacers and two spinners. However, in the Super 8 stage against Afghanistan, Mohammed Siraj was replaced by Kuldeep Yadav to add an extra spinner. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube provided additional seam options.

Manjrekar emphasized the importance of choosing the best combination for the conditions. He said, “I think it’s always nice to have many options, and that’s just, I think is for the foremost for any team management when there are exciting options to choose from. So I don’t think that is such an issue, but they must remain true to what would be the best playing 11 to get India to win in certain conditions,” on ‘Caught & Bold’ on Disney+ Hotstar.

India had a flawless run in the T20 World Cup group stage, defeating Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA. Their final group stage game against Canada was washed out, but they still topped the group with seven points. In their first Super 8 game, India defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs, with Suryakumar Yadav scoring 53 runs in 28 balls.

India will aim to continue their unbeaten streak as they face Bangladesh on Saturday at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
