Australia’s Strategy Against Virat Kohli in Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has shared insights on how Australia might plan to tackle India’s star batter, Virat Kohli, in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Manjrekar believes the Aussies will start by targeting Kohli outside the off-stump. Kohli, who debuted in Test cricket in 2011, has played 118 matches, scoring 9040 runs with an average of 47.83. Against Australia, he has scored 2042 runs in 25 matches.

Manjrekar noted that Kohli is aware of Australia’s tactics and has been leaving balls outside the off-stump. He mentioned that Australian bowlers might also attack Kohli’s body, a strategy previously used by New Zealand, to cramp his style. The series will begin on November 22 in Perth, followed by matches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, concluding on January 7.
