Sanjay Kumar Jha Confirms Bihar Assembly Polls 2025 Under Nitish Kumar’s Leadership
Patna (Bihar) [India], July 10: Sanjay Kumar Jha, the new working president of Janata Dal-United (JDU), has confirmed that the 2025 Bihar assembly elections will be led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Jha assured that Nitish Kumar is in good health and will lead the party in the upcoming elections.
Jha emphasized that Nitish Kumar has a history of making strong comebacks and that the recent Lok Sabha elections showed continued public support for him. Nitish Kumar, who rejoined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in January, secured 12 seats in the Bihar Lok Sabha polls, reinforcing his position as a key political figure.
Jha criticized the opposition for not addressing the special status for Bihar during their tenure from 2004 to 2014. He reiterated the demand for special status or a special package to help Bihar develop. The JDU recently passed a resolution supporting this demand.
Responding to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Yadav’s comments about the NDA government’s stability, Jha dismissed them, stating that the NDA will continue under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the next five years. He also took a jab at former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, claiming that the public trusts Nitish Kumar more.
Jha highlighted that the issue of a caste census was brought to the forefront by Nitish Kumar and is supported by the BJP. Opposition leaders have been advocating for a nationwide caste census to promote economic justice.
