Sana Malik Criticizes BJP for Opposing Nawab Malik in Maharashtra Elections
Mumbai, Maharashtra: Sana Malik, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate from Anushakti Nagar and daughter of Nawab Malik, has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for opposing her father, Nawab Malik, in the Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly seat. Despite the BJP’s opposition, Sana expressed confidence in the NCP’s support from the public, stating that the party’s work will earn them votes in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.
Sana Malik emphasized the importance of the work done by elected officials, questioning the contributions of the current MP over the past six months. She believes that voters are considering the effectiveness and accessibility of their representatives when making their decisions.
After Nawab Malik filed his nomination, a challenge arose for the Mahayuti alliance, which had already announced Shiv Sena’s Suresh Krishna Patil as their candidate for the same seat. Meanwhile, the NCP-SCP has fielded Fahad Ahmad, husband of actor Swara Bhaskar, against Sana Malik in Anushakti Nagar.
The BJP, part of the Mahayuti alliance with NCP (Ajit Pawar) and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), has consistently opposed Nawab Malik, citing alleged connections with underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. The Shiv Sena has also voiced opposition for similar reasons.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. In previous elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena have been significant contenders, with the BJP winning 105 seats in 2019 and 122 in 2014.
