Samajwadi Party’s Ashutosh Verma Criticizes PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and Congratulates Indian Cricket Team
Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ashutosh Verma took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. Verma said that PM Modi should have talked about the paper leak issue and unemployment. Instead, PM Modi spoke about the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, which encourages people to plant trees in honor of their mothers.
Verma mentioned that on July 1, the birthday of SP National President Akhilesh Yadav, the party would plant trees in large numbers. He acknowledged that PM Modi’s initiative was a good step but emphasized that the Samajwadi Party was already planning to plant millions of trees.
Additionally, Verma congratulated the Indian cricket team for their historic victory against South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024. India won by seven runs in Barbados, with Virat Kohli being named ‘Player of the Match’. This victory marked India’s first ICC title since the Champions Trophy in 2013.
During his 111th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi highlighted the importance of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched on World Environment Day. He appealed to people worldwide to join the tree plantation initiative to honor their mothers.
