Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav Denied Access to Jai Prakash Narayan Centre

Samajwadi Party’s Tribute to Jai Prakash Narayan Blocked

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was denied permission by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) to visit the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC) on the freedom fighter’s birth anniversary. Despite this, party MLA Ravidas Malhotra vowed to pay tribute by breaking barricades, criticizing the BJP-led state government for suppression.

Government’s Restrictions

The LDA cited security concerns and the site’s condition as reasons for the denial. JPNIC was sealed, barricaded, and police were deployed. Yadav, who has Z-plus security, criticized the government for blocking access with tin sheets, questioning their motives.

Political Tensions

Yadav accused the BJP of disrespecting freedom fighters, claiming they harbor ill will towards figures like Jai Prakash Narayan. He condemned the BJP’s actions as a symbol of closed thinking and animosity towards the freedom struggle.
