Texas [US], September 9: Congress leader Sam Pitroda addressed the Indian diaspora in Texas, highlighting the vision of his party leader, Rahul Gandhi. Pitroda emphasized that Gandhi’s vision is different from what the BJP promotes and defended Gandhi against the ‘Pappu’ label, describing him as highly educated and a deep thinker.
Pitroda, Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, shared that Gandhian thoughts, inclusion, and diversity were central to his upbringing. He expressed concern over societal changes that threaten these values and praised Gandhi for championing inclusion and diversity.
Pitroda explained that democracy requires active participation and cannot be taken for granted. He urged people to join the Indian Overseas Congress to improve the quality and diversity of their activities and membership.
He also mentioned that Rahul Gandhi had promised to visit Dallas during his last trip to New York and is fulfilling that promise by spending three days in the US, including a day in Texas and two days in Washington DC.
