Saloni Rai Announces Reconstruction of Birmah Bridge in Udhampur

Saloni Rai, the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, has announced that the project to reconstruct the Birmah Bridge in Udhampur city has been approved. The district administration has stated that the project will cost approximately Rs. 15 crores and is expected to be completed by December 2024.

The Birmah Bridge, which was damaged in 2020 due to flash floods and heavy rain, is considered the lifeline of the city. The damage caused major disruptions for residents and businesses. The sanctioned period for the project extends until June 2025.
