Tragic Wall Collapse in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh

On Sunday morning, a wall collapse in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, led to the tragic death of nine children and injured two others. The incident occurred around 8:30 am due to incessant rainfall.

Immediate Response

Sagar Collector Deepak Arya stated, “Incessant rainfall led to wall collapse and the children who were near the tent got buried under it. The incident happened around 8.30 am. As soon as information was received, the police administration and the municipal team arrived at the spot and the debris was removed with the help of the people.”

He confirmed that two children died on the spot, while seven others passed away on the way to the hospital. Two children are currently undergoing treatment.

Leaders Express Grief

President Droupadi Murmu expressed her sorrow, saying, “I am saddened by the news of the death of many innocent children in a heart-wrenching accident in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. I pray that God gives strength to the bereaved parents and family members to bear this pain. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured children.”

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also expressed deep sorrow and instructed the district administration to provide financial assistance to the affected families. He announced Rs 4 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for the injured.

Preventive Measures

Minister Govind Rajput emphasized that the administration is actively working to prevent such incidents in the future. He stated, “The administration is actively working. We are all present here. The CM has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh for the family of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for those injured.”

He also mentioned that preventive measures will be taken to avoid similar incidents.
