SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal to Reorganize Party After Core Committee Dissolution
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) dissolved its core committee following a meeting in Chandigarh. Party leader Daljit Singh Cheema shared on X that the core committee will be reorganized soon. The SAD President, Sukhbir Singh Badal, has been given the authority to reorganize the party.
During the meeting, senior colleagues including S Harjinder S Dhami, S Balwinder S Bhundar, S Mahesh Inder S Grewal, Dr Daljit S Cheema, S Paramjit S Sarna, S Iqbal S Jhoonda, and Harcharan S Bains were present. They also discussed four upcoming bye-elections.
Earlier, some leaders like Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Bibi Jagir Kaur demanded a change in leadership after the party’s poor performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Despite this, the SAD Working Committee reaffirmed its support for Sukhbir Singh Badal’s leadership.
On X, the Shiromani Akali Dal posted, “Shiromani Akali Dal Working Committee reposes complete faith in the leadership of party president S Sukhbir Singh Badal and urges detractors not to play into the hands of Panth’s enemies.”
Harsimrat Kaur Badal, SAD MP and Sukhbir Badal’s wife, stated, “The entire Shiromani Akali Dal is united and is standing with Sukhbir Badal. Some of the stooges of the BJP are trying to break SAD. They want to do the same as they did in Maharashtra.”
