Sachin Tendulkar to Flag Off Kochi Spice Coast Marathon 2024
On October 27, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar will inaugurate the Kochi Spice Coast Marathon 2024 at the scenic Marine Drive Ground. This year, a record 8,000 runners have registered, promising a festive atmosphere for the city’s renowned sports event.
Marathon Categories
The marathon features three categories: the full marathon (42.2km), the half-marathon (21.1km), and the popular Fun Run (5km). Approximately 600 runners will compete in the full marathon for the grand prize and the prestigious title.
Sachin Tendulkar’s Vision
Sachin Tendulkar, the brand ambassador for Ageas Federal Life Insurance, expressed his delight at the increasing participation. Community Participation
The marathon has become a cultural event in Kochi, with the entire city coming together to support the runners. Participants include 126 members of the Kochi Police, 257 runners from Jain Deemed University, and various teams from organizations like Air India, Navy, RBI, IOC, and Cochin Shipyard. The Fun Run will also see participation from the Medical Trust Healthy Aging Group and Moms of Cochin.
