Sachin Pilot Criticizes NEET Exam Irregularities at NSUI Event in Jaipur
Sachin Pilot, AICC General Secretary-in charge of Chhattisgarh and former Deputy Chief Minister, spoke out against the recent NEET exam irregularities. He criticized the government for ignoring paper leaks and emphasized the need for accountability. Pilot was speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the new executive of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) held at Birla Sabhagar in Jaipur.
During the event, Vinod Jakhar officially took charge as the newly appointed state president of NSUI Rajasthan. Pilot expressed his happiness that the NEET issue, raised by Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha, has gained national attention. He urged the government to take action against those responsible for the leaks.
Other notable attendees included Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara, AICC Secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, NSUI National President Varun Chaudhary, and several MLAs.
In a related development, the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka passed a resolution against the NEET exam, demanding a return to the CET system for medical admissions. The resolution highlighted flaws and irregularities in NEET and urged the Union Government to exempt Karnataka from the exam.
On July 23, the Supreme Court declined to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 exam, citing serious consequences for over 24 lakh students who appeared. The court was hearing pleas to recall NEET-UG 2024 results and conduct a fresh exam due to alleged paper leaks and malpractices.
