Sachin Pilot, the Chhattisgarh Congress state in-charge, has criticized the state government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. He stated that Naxal attacks and other crimes have increased significantly in the seven months since the government was formed.

“It has been only seven months since the formation of the Chhattisgarh state government. The numbers show that the law and order situation in the state has collapsed: Naxal attacks have increased, murders are happening, firings are happening, and rapes and kidnappings are all happening. The government has not taken any effective steps to address this. When people do not feel safe, it is our duty to express their troubles,” said Sachin Pilot.

He further emphasized the responsibility of the government, police, and administration to take stringent action against anti-social elements. “Since we are in opposition, it is our duty to ask questions of the Home Minister and the Chief Minister. What have you done till now? Crime can happen anywhere, but it is the duty of the government, police, and administration to build trust among the people and take action against the culprits,” he added.

Pilot also criticized the Union budget 2024-25, presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, for ignoring farmers. He said, “The government’s ignorance towards farmers has now become public. Despite forming the government, they have only made false promises to keep their allies happy. I am happy that our party talked about making MSP law in its manifesto, and we will raise this issue inside the House and also on the streets under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.”

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the budget, calling it “historic.” He highlighted that the budget allocates Rs 1.52 lakh crore to agriculture and allied sectors, which will transform the agricultural sector. He also mentioned provisions for providing Rs 5,000 during the apprenticeship to the youth and emphasized that the budget aims to project India as a developed nation by 2047.
