Sachin Pilot Confident in MVA’s Strength for Maharashtra Elections
On October 30, Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed his confidence in the strength of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20. As an observer for the Congress party, Pilot stated that the ruling Mahayuti alliance is aware of its impending exit. He emphasized that the MVA’s candidates are in a strong position and that the people are ready to support Congress and its allies.
Pilot highlighted the impressive performance of the alliance in the Lok Sabha elections, where Congress candidates won 80% of the seats they contested. He acknowledged some differences among party members regarding certain seats but assured that these issues would be resolved soon, ensuring only one MVA candidate per seat.
Earlier, Ramesh Chennithala, Congress in-charge for Maharashtra, criticized the BJP for allegedly undermining its alliance partners. He claimed that the BJP is forcing alliance partner candidates to become BJP candidates, and he believes the people will respond to this.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set for November 20, with vote counting on November 23. The MVA, consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), aims to regain power against the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
