Sachin Pilot Confident in INDIA Alliance’s Victory in Uttar Pradesh By-Elections

Congress leader Sachin Pilot has expressed confidence that the INDIA alliance will win all 10 seats in the upcoming by-elections for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. During his visit to Lucknow, Pilot stated, “There are by-elections on 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh and the INDIA alliance will win in all 10 seats.”

He mentioned that after the Lok Sabha election results, the political atmosphere in the country changed, and the central government had to reconsider many of its decisions. Pilot added, “A reflection of this will be visible in the by-election also. Our alliance is very strong.”

The by-elections are being held because nine MLAs were elected as MPs in the recent Lok Sabha elections, and the MLA of Sishamau was disqualified after a criminal conviction. The polling dates have not been announced yet.

In the 2022 Assembly polls, the BJP won 255 out of 493 seats, the Samajwadi Party won 111, and the Congress won two seats. Of the 10 seats in the upcoming by-elections, five were won by the SP, three by the BJP, and one each by the NISHAD party and Rashtriya Lok Dal in the 2022 elections.

In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 33 out of 80 parliamentary seats in Uttar Pradesh, with its allies RLD and Apna Dal (Soneylal) winning two and one seats, respectively. The Akhilesh Yadav-led SP won 37 seats, and the Congress won six.
