S Jaishankar’s Visit to Pakistan for SCO Summit
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is in Pakistan to attend the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). During his visit, he was seen taking a morning walk with colleagues at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. He also planted a sapling at the premises.

Jaishankar met with Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai on the sidelines of the SCO Summit to discuss strengthening bilateral partnerships. He attended a dinner hosted by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where they exchanged greetings.
Warm Welcome
Upon arrival at Rawalpindi airport, Jaishankar was warmly received by Ilyas Mehmood Nizami, Director General (South Asia) of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Children in traditional attire presented him with flower bouquets.
SCO Meeting Details
The two-day SCO meeting, chaired by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focuses on trade and economic agendas. Pakistan assumed the rotating chair of the SCO CHG for 2023-24 at the previous meeting in Bishkek. Jaishankar leads the Indian delegation at this important summit.
