S Jaishankar’s Important Visits to Saudi Arabia, Germany, and Switzerland
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will travel to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from September 8 to 9, 2024, to attend the First India-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. During this visit, he will also hold bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers from GCC member countries.
India and the GCC have a strong relationship in areas like politics, trade, energy, and culture. The GCC is a major trading partner for India and home to around 8.9 million Indians. The meeting will help review and deepen cooperation between India and the GCC.
On September 10-11, 2024, Jaishankar will visit Berlin, Germany, for his third bilateral visit. India and Germany share a strong Strategic Partnership, with Germany being a key trading partner and investor in India. He will meet the German Federal Foreign Minister and other leaders to review bilateral relations.
From September 12-13, 2024, Jaishankar will visit Geneva, Switzerland, where he will meet heads of international organizations and the Swiss Foreign Minister. This visit aims to strengthen India’s engagement with international bodies and enhance the partnership with Switzerland.
