S Jaishankar Visits Mauritius: Strengthening India-Mauritius Friendship
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited Mauritius, emphasizing that ‘Delivered by India’ is becoming a symbol of trust. He visited the Civil Service College project site in Reduit and praised the commitment and professionalism of those involved.
During his visit, Jaishankar met with Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagnauth in Port Louis, appreciating the deepening partnership between the two nations. He conveyed warm greetings from PM Narendra Modi to PM Jagnauth.
Jaishankar also attended the ground-breaking ceremony of ‘Maitree Udyan,’ a symbol of the enduring friendship between India and Mauritius. He thanked Mauritian Foreign Minister Maneesh Gobin for participating in the ceremony.
This visit follows Mauritius PM Jugnauth’s recent visit to India for PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. It marks one of Jaishankar’s first bilateral engagements after his re-appointment in the Modi-led government. Jaishankar had previously visited Mauritius in February 2021.
