S Jaishankar Meets Leaders from Denmark, UAE, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Singapore at UNGA
New York [US], September 28: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), met with leaders from Denmark, UAE, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Singapore to strengthen bilateral ties.
Meeting with Denmark
Jaishankar met with Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen. He appreciated the positive direction of their relationship and shared perspectives on the Ukraine conflict.
Meeting with UAE
Jaishankar also met with UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum. They discussed their strong ties and global events.
Meeting with Turkmenistan
In his meeting with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rasit Meredow, Jaishankar extended greetings on Turkmenistan’s national day and discussed expanding friendly ties.
Meeting with Uzbekistan
Jaishankar met with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov. He appreciated the progress in their bilateral ties and valued Saidov’s insights on the region.
Meeting with Singapore
Jaishankar concluded his day by meeting with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, marking a great end to a long day.
Jaishankar, currently visiting the US, also met with several other delegates and diplomats on the sidelines of UNGA, including leaders from the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Belgium, and Switzerland.
