S Jaishankar Meets German Leaders to Discuss Global Challenges and Collaborations
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Michael Roth, Chairperson of the Deutscher Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, in Berlin. They shared views on current global challenges and explored new collaborations between India and Germany.
Jaishankar also met with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. They discussed various issues, including the situations in Ukraine, Gaza, and the Indo-Pacific region. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, focusing on trade, investment, green development, skilled workers’ mobility, technology, and defense.
Jaishankar expressed his anticipation of welcoming Baerbock to India for the 7th Intergovernmental Consultations. He also mentioned the significance of cooperation with the European Union and the need for progress on the Free Trade Agreement and other agreements, with Germany’s support.
Additionally, Jaishankar highlighted the increased interactions and joint exercises between India and Germany, citing their first-ever air exercises this year.
