S Jaishankar Criticizes Rahul Gandhi for Remarks on Hindus and Indian Army

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in Parliament, accusing him of attacking Hindus and disparaging the Indian Army. Jaishankar said, “This is now the Leader of Opposition. Who attacks Hindus while professing brotherhood to all. Who disparages the Indian Army’s bravery, while expressing concern for their welfare. Who tears up Cabinet decisions, while preaching respect for Constitution. Welcome to the politics of the Congress Party.”

Earlier, during the motion of thanks for the President’s address, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP-led government of a systematic attack on the idea of India and the Constitution. He claimed that many leaders were personally attacked and some were jailed for resisting the concentration of power and wealth. Rahul also associated the Hindu symbol ‘Abhayamudra’ with the Congress party, symbolizing fearlessness and safety.

BJP members, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condemned Rahul’s comments. Shah said, “Connecting violence with any religion is wrong. He should apologise.” Modi added, “Calling the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious matter.” Rahul responded by stating that BJP and RSS do not represent the entire Hindu society.
