Admiral Aleksandr Alekseyevich Moiseyev, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Federation Navy, is on an official visit to India from August 19-22. The visit aims to enhance the longstanding naval relations between Russia and India and explore new avenues for cooperation.

Meeting with Indian Naval Chief

On August 19, Admiral Moiseyev met with Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, in New Delhi. They discussed ways to strengthen Navy-to-Navy cooperation. Admiral Moiseyev was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the South Block Lawns.

Areas of Cooperation

The Indian Navy and the Russian Federation Navy collaborate in various areas, including operational interactions, training, hydrographic cooperation, and the exchange of experts. They also interact in multilateral forums such as IONS, MILAN, IORA, WPNS, and ADMM-Plus.

Upcoming Meetings and Visits

During his visit, Admiral Moiseyev will meet with the Chief of Defence Staff, the Defence Secretary, the Vice Chief of the Air Staff, and the National Maritime Security Coordinator of India. He will also travel to Mumbai to hold discussions with the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, and visit indigenous warships, submarines, and the Naval Dockyard.
