Russia and Ukraine Drone Strikes Escalate Amid Trump’s Peace Pledge

In a recent surge of violence, Russia and Ukraine have launched hundreds of attack drones against each other. This escalation comes as both nations seek to gain an advantage before January, when US President-elect Donald Trump has promised to end the conflict. On November 10, Russia launched 145 drones, while Ukraine sent 34 drones towards Moscow. Russia’s air defenses successfully intercepted all drones over the Moscow region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The drones were shot down in the Moscow regions of Ramenskoye, Kolomna, and Domodedovo, as stated by Andrey Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow region. Meanwhile, Trump had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, marking their first discussion since Trump’s election victory. During the call, Trump advised Putin against escalating the war in Ukraine and reminded him of the US military presence in Europe.

Although the White House and Kremlin have not confirmed the call, sources indicate that Trump discussed a potential agreement where Russia might retain some territories. This aligns with Trump’s campaign promise to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, though he has not specified his approach.
