Russia Accuses Ukraine of Attacks on Civilians in Kursk, Belgorod, and Voronezh

Moscow has accused Kyiv of launching attacks on Russian civilians, calling them ‘terrorist’ acts. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that a Ukrainian strike on Kursk injured 13 civilians, with two in serious condition. Attacks also occurred in Belgorod and Voronezh, injuring several people.

Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated, ‘The Kyiv regime continues to carry out its terrorist attacks with the single goal to terrorise the Russian civilians.’ She added that the attacks are devoid of any military purpose and are aimed at intimidating civilians.

Zakharova detailed that on the night of August 11, Ukrainian forces launched a massive strike on Kursk using Tochka-U missiles, with one hitting a residential building. She also mentioned attacks on Belgorod and Voronezh regions using UAVs, resulting in injuries and destruction.

Ukraine claims its forces have advanced into Russia’s Kursk area, capturing territory and enemy soldiers. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his soldiers have advanced 1 to 2 kilometers in Russia’s southern Kursk.

Amid the ongoing tensions, the Indian Embassy in Russia has advised Indian nationals to temporarily relocate from the Bryansk, Belgorod, and Kursk regions due to security concerns.
