Rubina Francis, a talented shooter from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, has made India proud by winning a bronze medal in the P2 Women’s 10M Air Pistol SH-1 final at the Paris Paralympics. Her father, Simon Francis, shared his joy, saying that the entire city of Jabalpur and the nation are celebrating her achievement.

Rubina secured third place with a total of 211.1 points. The gold medal was won by Javanmardi Sareh of Iran with 236.8 points, and the silver went to Turkey’s Ozgan Aysel with 231.1 points.

Simon Francis mentioned that they are planning a grand celebration for Rubina’s return from Paris. He emphasized that her victory is not just a personal achievement but a symbol of what can be accomplished with hard work and belief in oneself.

In the qualification round, Rubina finished sixth with a total of 556 points across six rounds. The Indian shooting team has shown remarkable performance, with Avani Lekhara winning gold in the women’s 10m air rifle final, and Mona Agarwal securing a bronze in the same event.

Avani Lekhara’s gold medal came with a personal best of 249.7 points, while South Korea’s Yunri Lee won silver with 246.8 points, and Mona Agarwal took bronze with 228.7 points.

India’s shooting team has a history of success, having won five medals in the last Olympics in Tokyo, including two golds, one silver, and two bronzes.
