RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Calls for End to Untouchability and Promotes Social Harmony in Alwar

Alwar, Rajasthan – On Sunday, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat spoke at a gathering at the Indira Gandhi Sports Ground in Alwar, emphasizing the need to completely eliminate untouchability in India. He stated, “This (untouchability) feeling must be completely eradicated. This change must be brought about by transforming the mindset of society. Social harmony is the key to driving this transformation.”

Bhagwat urged RSS volunteers to embody five key areas in their lives: social harmony, environmental conservation, family awareness, a sense of self, and civic discipline. He noted that next year marks the 100th anniversary of the RSS and encouraged volunteers to understand and uphold the principles behind their work.

He emphasized the importance of making the nation strong and prosperous through hard work and collective effort. Bhagwat explained that Hinduism is a universal human religion that seeks the welfare of all. He described Hindus as generous people who use knowledge to spread wisdom, wealth for charity, and strength to protect the weak.

Bhagwat also stressed the need for environmental conservation, urging people to take small actions like saving water, eliminating single-use plastic, and planting trees. He expressed concern over declining family values and advised families to come together for prayers, meals, and social service.

He highlighted the importance of self-reliance and frugality, encouraging people to buy locally-made products and only purchase foreign goods when necessary. Bhagwat also reminded citizens of their civic responsibilities and the need for discipline.

After his speech, Mohan Bhagwat visited Matri Smriti Van, where he planted trees to promote environmental conservation.
