RSS Celebrates 100th Year with Marches Across Tamil Nadu
On Sunday, members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) held route marches in 58 locations across Tamil Nadu as part of their 100th-year celebrations and Vijayadasami festivities. Participants dressed in RSS uniforms gathered in large numbers in areas like Kanchipuram, Chrompet, and Ariyamangalam in Tiruchirappalli. In Ariyamangalam, over 100 police officers ensured the event’s security. The Madras High Court had earlier directed Tamil Nadu police to permit these marches.
In Chennai, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan, joined over 200 RSS members in the Egmore area march. Meanwhile, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, speaking in Rajasthan’s Baran Nagar, urged the Hindu society to unite by overcoming language, caste, and regional differences. He emphasized the importance of discipline, duty, and goal-oriented behavior in society.
Bhagwat stated that India is a ‘Hindu nation’ and that the term Hindu encompasses all sects in the country. He highlighted the RSS’s unique, thought-based work and its method of personality development, which involves passing values from leaders to volunteers and their families. The event in Rajasthan was attended by several regional RSS leaders.
