RS Pathania Chosen as BJP Candidate for Udhampur East in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Polls
The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced RS Pathania as their candidate for the Udhampur East constituency in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. The announcement was made on Sunday as part of the BJP’s sixth list of candidates.
RS Pathania, who is also the BJP spokesperson for Jammu and Kashmir, expressed his gratitude towards the party’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president J.P. Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah. He thanked them for their trust and the opportunity to contest from Udhampur East.
Pathania highlighted the developmental strides made in Jammu and Kashmir and noted a significant reduction in terrorist activities in the area. Confident about his prospects, he declared that he would live up to the trust placed in him by the BJP and work tirelessly to secure a victory for the party in the Udhampur East constituency.
Furthermore, Pathania predicted a sweeping victory for the BJP across all seats in the Jammu province and anticipated significant gains for the party in Kashmir as well.
The BJP’s sixth list of candidates includes RS Pathania for Udhampur East and Naseer Ahmad Lone for Bandipora. Other candidates in the list are Mohd Irnees Karnahi from Karnah, Ghulam Mohammad Mir from Handwara, Abdul Rashid Khan from Sonawari, and Faqir Mohammad Khan from Gurez (ST).
The polling in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases starting from September 18, 25, and October 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 8.
